Abstract

With this reading of some modern and contemporary poetry (both Portuguese and French), my aim here is not only to show that there are some common and implicit features regarding twentieth-century poetry but also, based upon the notion of "horizon structure" (grounded in ontological and phenomenological roots), to defy the narrow perspective that associates the ideas of contemporary poetry, solipsist disruption with the world and erasure of subjectivity.
