In opposition to a certain modern proposal of teleological temporality, this essay evokes the poetics of Max Martins, in a reading of the spiral trend, to analyze the effects and developments of a curvilinear, recursive, and spacing perspective, both for the perception of the differences of the modern in Brazilian poetry, and for a theory of poetry. For this, a dialogue is established, above all, with the morphological thought of Goethe, with the plastic and pathetic formulas of Aby Warburg, and with the notion of eroticism of Georges Bataille.
