The present work proposes a reinterpretation of the modernism practiced by António Ferro, in the light of its relationship with jazz music. To what extent did jazz foster the modernism enunciated and employed by the author, how is music able to transpose its multifaceted imaginarium to the field of writing, what correspondences are established, through this aesthetic marriage between music and literature, between the Jazz Band Age and the Fitzgeraldian Jazz Age and, finally, whether or not António Ferro belongs to the controversial international series of jazz authors, are questions that are going to be answered throughout this essay.
